Bridal accessories for a vintage wedding

Bridal accessories for a vintage wedding
Hello darlings, this week I’m talking all about weddings. It’s all well and good choosing a beautiful vintage wedding dress, but no bridal look is complete without gorgeous hair accessories to finish off your fabulous bridal attire.

With so many different styles available, choosing one can be a little overwhelming. But don’t worry! We’ve sorted all the best hair accessories into styles, from tiaras to wedding hair clips and hair combs.

Whether you’re leaning towards a tiara or you think that some dainty hair pins might be more your style, get ready to feel inspired by these lovely wedding hair accessories.

Hairwear
A cathedral length veil may not seem right if you only have a handful of people there to witness you nuptials, so why not opt for a smaller headpiece instead? Keep all of the glamour, but feel comfortable and suited to the intimacy of the celebration. You can always wear it again for the party later on! My favourite picks are the Deco crystal tiara (perfect with a sleek chignon) or a scattering of crystal and pearls, as seen here on our embellished haircomb.

Opting for a tea length dress? Keep all of the fun and none of the fuss with a birdcage veil, like our handmade design here, which attaches securely to the hair with a clip and falls seductively across the eyes for some true Hollywood glamour.

Jewellery:

It can be difficult to know which pieces to wear for your big day. Necklines, hairdos and sleeves can complicate even the simplest of trinkets, so we advise choosing your dress before even thinking about jewellery. Often, keeping it simple is best, for example a sleek tennis bracelet with some drop earrings to add a touch of sparkle. Or go bold with a touch of colour, with gem drop earrings in ruby, sapphire or emerald hues (bonus points if you match your heels!). As for necklaces? A simple pendant will flatter most vintage gowns, and err on the side of caution with regards to length! Keep the cascading pearls for your 1920s flapper nights, darlings.

Feathers:

Of course, no wedding lookbook would be complete without a mention of our show stopping feathers! Big white wedding or intimate gathering, there is never an occasion when these can’t ruffle up some fun. One of our real brides wore hers over the sparkling Springfield gown - on top of the Rockerfeller building, no less! We just love the idea of mixing and matching colours too because really, who said they have to be white? Find your something blue with our navy ostrich feather bolero and match with our perfect pin up heels in a complimentary shade.
